First day to signup and start reading is Saturday, June 6th, and the first day to report on reading (online or at your local library) is Saturday, June 13th.

The last day to report books, comic books, graphic novels, or magazines you have read is Saturday, August 8th at 5:30 p.m.

The zoo party takes place on Saturday, August 15th.

The last day to pick up prizes is Saturday, September 12th.

Eligible for the Every Hero Has A Story Summer Reading Club: Birth – entering grade 5

How it works:

Read and report on 10 books by 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 8th to be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing for a chance to win one of two new tablets.

There are two ways to keep track of and report on your books:

You can use a printed log to record the name and author of each book you’ve read. Receive your printed log by visiting your local library. Have a parent or caregiver initial your log for each book that you read. Bring the log with you and report your reading at the Summer Reading Reporting Station the next time you visit your local Tacoma Public Library. Or you can record your reading online through Tacoma Public Library’s Summer Reading website.

Each week that you report online or in the library, you will be entered into a weekly raffle for fun prizes, including tickets to a Tacoma Rainier's baseball game, passes to Northwest Trek, and tickets to the Washington State Fair.

Once you have finished reading and reporting on your first 10 books, for every additional 10 books you read and report on you will be entered again into the Grand Prize Drawing for a chance to win one of two new tablets.

Everyone who completes the program will receive a tote bag, superhero bookmark and bubbles, two free games of bowling at Narrows Plaza Bowl, coupon for a free Auntie Anne's Pretzel and a ticket for two to the Summer Reading Celebration on Saturday, August 15th at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium.

The last day to report (in person or online) is Saturday, August 8th at 5:30 p.m.

The last day to pick up prizes is Saturday, September 12th. Participant must be present to pick up prizes. Prizes will be available while supplies last.

Books should be at your appropriate reading level. Graphic novels, magazines, audio books, and eBooks count!
