Sign up to attend this Club if you are into Anime, Manga, or Asian Culture. Once a month we will meet to munch food, discuss manga, and watch/discuss one or more paired anime.

(Sign up and the 12 people who sign up get a free copy of this month's manga selection.)

Following the screening and discussion we will work on drawings and articles to populate our Online Maga-Zine about anime and manga. If your high school sponsors an anime club, we welcome one drawing or photo and one article/haiku/game/puzzle submission per month from outside clubs.

If your submission is accepted, it will be included in the Mangazine. To submit email sholloway@tacomapubliclibrary.org with the subject line "Zine Submission". Please attach your image or article in a .jpg, .pdf, or word format, and list the names of the creator, the title of the piece, and the name of the Manga club. Ages 13-25
-----------------------
This edition of the Anime Club has been expanded to 30 attendees because we are offering a workshop on in-depth character creation for Anime, Manga, or Cos-Play. In our workshop we will get into things like backstory creation, developing character personality, character flaws and pointing out how the killer is in the details. We'll have some fun acting activities, drawing and writting activities. Then when we have shown you all that we have to show you, you can show off and design your physical character using any medium you would like. From acting it, to writting it, to drawing a panel or two if you're up for it. Don't let your idea's stay trapped in your mind let them loose with people and let your imagination come to life!

Diary of young girl

AS far as I knew the holocaust was a big deal, but after reading Diary of Anne Frank I gained a deeper understanding of the holocaust. Anne Frank lived a great life before the holocaust but being put into hiding was hard especially when they had to take baths in a tub in the kitchen. They had fleas lice ticks and nearly died. Then end was saddest for me they ware found by the gestapo and taken to camps. Peter got away and was never heard from again. The dad Otto Frank lived and got the book published. The rest of the family and others in hiding died. But Anne and her mother and sister died of a disese and of starvation. I nearly cried.

IDA B
Author
Katherine Hannigan
Review
The book that i have read is called ida b, it is about this girl that gets a peanut butter on one slice of bread, milk and an apple for lunch everyday. Ida b's mom has cancer and ida b struggels through hard times. Her hard heart is being really strict. But then she gets along with her parents. And earlier in the book the author said that ida b was talking to a tree and that's why i thought it was fiction. I think that this is the book ever because it is about her life. And her mom gets over with cancer.

So they went to the hospital one day and ida b was sitting on the floor. Suddenly everything was pitch black for her, and she heard her dad calling her ida b. she did't want to talk to him. because he said the people of the enviorment would cut down the trees. And one tree by the barn she would always talk to. I loved this book and i recomend you read it.  Library Catalog

Jesus

One Night in Bethlehem a woman named Mary, not married but engaged to a man named Joseph. An Angel named Gabriel told Mary and Joseph about their son, the Savior. Later Mary & Joseph were married & name the baby Jesus. When Jesus was about 30 years old, he was baptized. When Jesus came up, he saw Heaven open and God, in the form of a dove, rested on Jesus' head. God told him who he was and that he was God's only son. To feed over 5,000 people, Jesus told his disciples to place people in groups of 50. The 12 disciples were amazaed at the endless supply of 2 fish and 5 bread pieces. This was just one of many miracles Jesus performed before the people, showing them who he was, but they did not all believe.   Library Catalog
